Beethoven: Maximum Disruption
.
I (Michelle, hi, nice to meet you) post and reblog music related stuff. All sorts of music stuff!
My personal blog was getting too cluttered with photos of Morrissey and Courtney Love to let all my music postings continue there.
I tend to post things related to "90's alternative music" and "funk" and "punk" and "metal" music. Because I enjoy those genres.
My last.fm account is teenage_waste. Find me if you want. I use to post a link but the internet decided to suck and didn't want me to anymore.
The username was supposed to be teenage_wasteland. Like the Who song. But the internet decided to character limit and suck.

Sara Davis Buechner, classical pianist. (Note: some parts of the narration in this video use the usual cutesy pronoun game, the “David…became SARA!” schtick, etc. But I’m including it here because Sara tells her own story and plays beautifully, so I think it’s worth a viewing!)
Note: Tonight I’ll be making short posts/reblogs on creative trans/genderqueer/etc folks from recent history- artists, writers, musicians, etc. Feel free to drop suggestions in my ask box, and they’ll all be grouped here as I post them. Enjoy!
So I’ve heard of David Buechner (which is amazing for me who knows absolutely nothing about classical but I had heard of David Buechner before) but I had no clue about the full story here and oh my. Her story is so beautiful and so inspiring and she seems like such a lovely lady. Reblogging because this was an awesome watch.

Nowadays it’s hard to imagine, but there was a time when stage-diving and crowd-surfing never existed at rock shows or at any shows, for that matter. Iggy Pop was the first person to go out and walk on the hands of his audience, that stands out to me as an iconic event. However, in all the crowd-surfing moments I’ve witnessed, watching Courtney Love walk into her audience was one of the most outrageous I’d ever seen. I can remember it clearly: I was watching with friends at Manhattan’s Bowery Ballroom balcony in 2004 as she was elevated above the crowd, being passed from hand to hand. I remember thinking how funny and weird it looked, like a giant snake pit. It was such a crazy angle to view it all from, and there I was, looking down as it unfolded. From where I stood, it almost looked as i the crowd wasn’t made up of individual people, but that it was really just a gigantic organism, all moving in sync with Courtney Love at the helm.
With all of the concerts I have been a part of and have seen over the years, this was truly a memorable musical moment. Every person in the audience fed off her energy from that performance. And when she crossed that invisible boundary between the stage and the crowd, everyone jumped at the chance to literally carry her performance on. Taking it all in, I couldn’t help but think about Iggy and his legendary stage dives. It was wild to watch how Courtney took such control of that audience, continually leaping into the crowd. It was such an incredible performance to witness, and it was definitely one of the most exciting rock ‘n’ roll moments of the last decade.

I SAW BECK IN BEND, OR AND I LOVE THIS PICTURE LOOK AT IT.

I have a millllllllion more pictures on my instagram: shelleshelleshe
The concert was amazing. I was going to write a review but eh. I don’t feel like it.
Alright so I tried to post this on my music blog but it didn’t work so let’s try this again. I saw Beck last night. I was one person away from him/the stage. It was amazing. I have a million other pictures. I’m very happy. Seeing as half of my followers on musicstuffandthings are following me because of Beck I figured it was important to post one of my instagram photos here. Feel free to ask me questions about the show in my ask box. I may not answer for a while cuz I gotta go to Portland and then go back to Seattle (six hour car ride with a small stop between! Woooo!)
this is amazing.
